Ruby Wilder ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website at wilderbrain.com and our product and checkout pages at checkout.wilderbrain.com, including all related information, content, features, tools, and digital products (the "Services"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose personal information when you visit the Services, make a purchase, or otherwise communicate with us. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using or accessing the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and understand how your information is collected, used, and disclosed as described here.

Personal information we collect

When we use the term "personal information," we mean information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to you. Depending on how you interact with the Services, we may collect or process the following categories of personal information:

• Contact details. Your name, your email address, and, if you choose to share it, your Instagram username, when you request a free resource or sign up for our newsletter on wilderbrain.com; and your email address at checkout, so we can email you the link to your download, find your order, resend your download when you ask, and, unless you clear the box at checkout, send you updates.
• Payment information. Your card and billing details are collected and processed directly by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number. From Stripe, we receive limited information, such as the payment status, the last four digits of your card, and the card brand.
• Order records. Information about your purchase, including a payment session identifier, the product purchased, the amount paid, your email address, the date of the transaction, whether the email with your download link was sent, and whether you accepted or declined an offer shown right after checkout.
• Site usage information. When you visit wilderbrain.com or our checkout pages (checkout.wilderbrain.com), our own site measurement records the page you view, the page, website, or campaign link (UTM tags) that referred you, the time of the visit, how far you scroll and how long you stay, which article cards, buttons, and forms you click, and basic device information (device type, the app the link was opened in, language, time zone, and screen width), together with a random visit identifier stored in your browser (see "Cookies and local storage" below). It does not include your name or email address. When you buy, we also record the purchase in the same measurement database, without your name or email: the products, the amount, and the random identifier and campaign that brought you.
• Device and technical information. Your IP address and information about your browser, collected through the server logs of our website, hosting, and database providers and through Stripe's fraud-prevention systems.
• Communications with us. Any information you include when you contact us for support, for example by email or Instagram direct message.
• Reviews you choose to leave. Our product pages and the reviews section of the wilderbrain.com home page let you post a review without creating an account. The name you enter (or "Anonymous reader" if you choose that option), your star rating, your review text, and any photo you attach are published on our product pages and on the wilderbrain.com home page as soon as you submit them. The email address you provide with a review, your IP address, and the time of submission are kept private: they are never published, and we use them only to confirm the review's origin, to limit how many reviews can be posted from one connection, and to act on a request to remove a review. Photos are re-saved as small square images with their metadata removed before they are published.
• The free 30-Day No Contact Journal. When you ask for the journal, we collect your first name (optional) and your email address to send you the private link to your journal. What you type in the journal is saved on our server so you can open it on any device; it is tied to your private link and is never published or shared. You can clear what you wrote from your journal at any time in its Settings.
• AI replies in the journal. In the free journal, the replies you see are written by Lena, Ruby's AI assistant: they are written by AI, not by a person, guided by what Ruby wrote. At the end of each night, the journal also writes a short note of the session (what you shared, what helped, what to come back to) and reads it the next night, together with your answers to the short quiz, so it can remember you. To write the replies and the notes, what you type in the journal's questions is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, which processes it to generate the reply and, under its commercial terms, does not use it to train its models. The text you write to him and keep in the journal is never sent to the AI and never goes into the notes. We don't sell what you write, and we never use it to choose ads or offers for you.
• Safety in the journal. If something you write suggests you may be in danger or thinking about hurting yourself, the journal doesn't reply with AI: it shows the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and other free US help lines.

Where your information comes from

We may collect personal information from the following sources:

• Directly from you, including when you request a free resource or sign up for our newsletter on wilderbrain.com, complete a purchase, enter your email at checkout, leave a review on a product page or on wilderbrain.com, or contact us;
• Automatically through the Services, from your device and browser when you visit or use wilderbrain.com and our checkout, including through our own site measurement; and
• From our payment processor, Stripe, which shares limited information about your payment and order with us so we can confirm your purchase and deliver your product.

How we use your personal information

Depending on how you interact with us, we may use your personal information for the following purposes:

• Provide and Deliver the Services. To give you the free resource you requested, process your payment, confirm your order, deliver your digital product on the download page shown after checkout and by email, with one email that carries the link to your download page, provide the download links tied to your purchase, and resend them when you ask.
• Communicate With You. To respond to support requests, send your download links, and follow up on a purchase, refund, or other request. Your payment receipt is sent by Stripe.
• Journal emails. We email you the link to your journal and, if you keep the nightly reminder on, that night's question each evening. You can turn the reminder off in the journal's Settings or from the link in any reminder.
• Improving the journal. We keep a copy of what you write in the journal and in the short quiz, including the text you write to him and don't send, together with the replies and the short session notes the journal wrote, stored under a random code instead of your name or email, to see how the journal is used and to make it better. We also record the steps you take (such as opening the quiz, finishing a night, or clicking a product) and the site or campaign that brought you, under a random code for your browser. We don't sell it or use it to choose ads for you. Clearing your journal in its Settings removes what you wrote and the journal's notes from your journal, but does not delete this copy: we keep it, and the record of your steps, to improve the journal.
• Understand and Improve the Services. To count visits, see which pages and free resources people find useful, and improve our writing and products, using our own site measurement.
• Marketing. We send you occasional emails about new writing, products, or promotions if you sign up for our newsletter or otherwise choose to receive them: by checking a box for news and offers where a form offers one, or by leaving that box checked at checkout. At checkout the box is selected by default, and you can clear it before you pay. Requesting a free resource on its own does not add you to our marketing emails. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting us.
• Publish Your Reviews. To display, on our product pages and on the wilderbrain.com home page, the name, rating, text, and photo you chose to submit with a review, and to remove a review when you ask us to.
• Security and Fraud Prevention. To help detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized transactions, working together with Stripe's fraud-prevention systems.
• Legal Reasons. To comply with applicable law, respond to valid legal process, and enforce our Terms of Service.

How we share your personal information

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose it in the following circumstances:

• With Stripe, our payment processor, to process your payment and prevent fraud;
• With service providers who help us operate the Services, such as website hosting (Vercel), database hosting (Supabase), email delivery (ZeptoMail, by Zoho, which sends the email with your download link and the journal emails), AI (Anthropic, which writes the replies in the free journal), and font hosting; and
• When required by law, including to comply with a legal obligation or respond to a lawful request from a government authority.

We do not use advertising or third-party analytics platforms on the Services, and we do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Our site measurement is our own and is stored with our database provider.

Payment processing and cookies

Payment processing by Stripe

Your purchase is made directly with Ruby Wilder. Stripe processes the payment on our behalf and maintains its own privacy policy, available at stripe.com/privacy. The "Sign in" link at checkout is Stripe Link, not an account with us: you enter your email, Stripe sends you a code, and your saved card fills itself in. Any Link account is created and managed by Stripe under Stripe's own terms; we do not create or maintain a customer account for you on the Services.

We ask Stripe to keep the payment method from your purchase so an add-on can be bought in one click on the page right after checkout. We never see your card number, and that payment method is never charged without your click.

Cookies and local storage

We do not use advertising cookies, Google Analytics, the Meta Pixel, or any other third-party tracking or analytics tool on the Services. On wilderbrain.com and checkout.wilderbrain.com, our own site measurement stores a random visit identifier in your browser's storage and sends it, together with the page you view and what you click, to our database, so we can count visits and understand how people move through the site. It contains no name or email address. We may connect it with information you give us, such as the email address you enter in a form, to understand which pages led to a signup or a purchase. You can remove it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for wilderbrain.com and checkout.wilderbrain.com.

Our checkout pages store two other values in your browser. One is a small local timestamp that marks when a limited-time offer began; it stays on your device and is not sent to us. The other is a one-hour cookie set when you start checkout, which ties the one-click offer page to the browser you paid in, so no one else who opens that page's link can use your payment method. It contains no name, email address, or card detail. Stripe sets its own cookies on the checkout page for security and fraud prevention, as described in Stripe's privacy policy.

Do Not Track signals

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common standard for how websites should respond to it, the Services do not currently change their behavior when they receive one. We do not allow third parties to collect personal information about your online activities over time and across different websites through the Services, except that Stripe collects information about your device and your visit on the checkout page to prevent fraud, under its own privacy policy.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the rights listed below in relation to your personal information. These rights are not absolute and, in certain cases, we may decline a request as permitted by law.

• Right to Access / Know. You may request access to the personal information we hold about you.
• Right to Delete. You may request that we delete personal information we maintain about you.
• Right to Correct. You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
• Right of Portability. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, in certain circumstances.
• Managing Communication Preferences. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email. We may still send you non-promotional emails, such as those about your order.

You may exercise any of these rights by contacting us using the details below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request, as permitted or required by applicable law. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we may still ask you to verify your identity directly with us before we act on it.

Children's data

The Services are intended for adults who have reached the age of majority in their state or country of residence and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below so we can delete it.

Security and retention

No security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee "perfect security." Any information you send us may not be secure while in transit, so we recommend against using unsecure channels to share sensitive information with us.

We retain order records, including your email address, the product purchased, and the amount paid, for as long as needed to deliver your product, respond to refund requests, and meet our tax and accounting obligations. We do not store your full payment card details; those are held by Stripe. Server logs, which may include IP addresses, are kept only for as long as we need them for security and troubleshooting. If you request a free resource or sign up for our newsletter, we keep your name, email address, Instagram username (if you gave one), and the resource you asked for until you ask us to delete them. Site usage records are kept only for as long as we need them to understand how the Services are used. If you ask for the free journal, we keep what you write in it and the copy under a random code that we use to improve the journal; clearing the journal in its Settings removes what you wrote and the journal's notes from your journal, not from that copy. If you join our email list, we keep your address on the list until you unsubscribe. Support messages are kept for as long as we may need them to respond to you.

International transfers

Ruby Wilder is based in the United States, and your personal information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States regardless of where you live, where privacy laws may differ from those of your country.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
